Regional Core, Fluids and CBM Analytical leader joins Weatherford’s Expanding Integrated Laboratory Services
HOUSTON, September 25th. 2008 -- Weatherford International Ltd. (NYSE:WFT) today announced the acquisition of ACS Laboratories Pty Ltd, an Australian company dedicated to providing innovative and technically superior analytical services to the Oil, Gas, and Coal Bed Methane industries.
This acquisition adds several important components to Weatherford’s growing Integrated Laboratory Services group. ACS brings a first class team of geologists, chemists, engineers, core analysts, fluids phase behavior specialists and field personnel with broad knowledge capable of providing regional expertise via 8 bases across 5 Asian countries. Further, the ACS “under one roof” field and Lab service-offerings of gas desorption, core petrophysics, formation damage, petrographic & sedimentology services, reservoir fluids and fuels analysis are unique among service companies in the eastern hemisphere.
This acquisition is Weatherford’s latest addition to the company’s newly formed integrated laboratory services group, known as Weatherford Laboratories. Prior acquisitions include Houston-based companies OMNI Laboratories, Humble Geochemical and Baseline Resolution; TICORA and Tesseract of Denver, Colorado; Rotary Labs in Midland Texas; Hycal in Calgary, Canada; and ResLab, headquartered in Norway. Weatherford Labs currently has 38 laboratory locations in 18 countries.
